Retired Paramedic | Lineage Keeper | Educator
I am a biologically lineaged medicine woman and mentor in trauma healing and nervous system regulation, bridging the ancient healing practices of my ancestors with modern science. Raised in the ways of my Taino lineage, I learned that the body holds stories, that healing happens in community, and that breath is the bridge between survival and peace.
For 16 years, I worked in clinical emergency medicine as a paramedic, responding to crisis after crisis, stabilizing bodies in their most fragile moments. I later became a mentor and educator for paramedics, training over 1,000 students and becoming the nation’s expert in hybrid EMS education—a field I helped shape to prioritize mental health, career sustainability, and nervous system resilience.
But while I was saving lives, I was losing pieces of my own. The high stress, the repeated exposure to trauma, and the deep emotional toll of the job led me to a truth that medicine didn’t teach me: healing isn’t just about survival—it’s about learning how to feel safe again.
Now, in my therapeutic coaching and healing practice, I guide people through dedicated seasons of growth, helping them reconnect with their intuition, regulate their nervous system, and finally move out of survival mode. My work blends emergency medicine, applied polyvagal theory, trauma-informed coaching, and the practices of my ancestors—because healing is both a science and a sacred remembering.
This workbook is an invitation to reclaim your breath, your body, and your sense of safety. It’s not about “doing it right.” It’s about learning to listen—because your body already knows the way home.
